Job Description

The Professor in the Department of General Surgery will be responsible for teaching, research, and patient care in the field of general surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the department, and to engage in scholarly activities that support the College's mission and vision.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of general surgery Engage in scholarly activities, including research and publication, to advance the field of general surgery Provide patient care in a clinical setting Mentor and supervise junior faculty and medical students in the department Lead the development of new programs and initiatives within the department and the College Represent the department and the College in professional and academic organizations Contribute to the College's mission and vision through active engagement in College-wide initiatives and programs

Qualifications

Post graduate degree(M.D.S)in General surgery or equivalent qualification Board certification in General Surgery A minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing surgeon A proven track record of scholarly activities, including research and publication Excellent teaching and communication skills Strong leadership skills and experience in leading academic programs and initiatives Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and contribute to a team-based approach to patient care Commitment to the College's mission and vision Eligibility fields: General Surgery Surgical Oncology Colorectal Surgery Trauma Surgery Vascular Surgery Transplant Surgery Pediatric Surgery Thoracic Surgery Plastic Surgery Urology Gynecologic Surgery Neurosurgery
