About the role
Assistant Professor – Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
Department: Electronics & Communication Engineering
Designation: Assistant Professor
Institution: JKKN College of Engineering & Technology
Work Location: Komarapalayam, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu
Job Purpose
We are looking for a passionate and learner-focused Assistant Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) who can facilitate meaningful learning through strong subject expertise, practical application, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled learning approaches.
The Learning Facilitator will be responsible for creating an engaging academic environment where learners develop conceptual understanding, technical competence, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and industry-relevant skills. The role involves integrating AI tools and digital learning solutions into teaching while encouraging learners to apply ECE concepts to real-world engineering problems.
JKKN College of Engineering & Technology places strong emphasis on hands-on learning, innovation, research, industry exposure, and preparing learners to address global engineering challenges. (engg.jkkn.ac.in)
Key Responsibilities
1. Learning Facilitation & Academic Delivery
Facilitate engaging and outcome-based learning sessions for ECE learners.
Deliver core ECE subjects with clarity, relevance, and strong practical orientation.
Design lesson plans, learning activities, assessments, and learner-centric experiences.
Connect theoretical concepts with practical engineering applications and current industry practices.
Encourage questioning, critical thinking, collaboration, and independent learning.
2. AI-Enabled Learning
Integrate appropriate AI tools into teaching, learning, assessment, research, and academic preparation.
Guide learners in using AI responsibly for research, ideation, problem-solving, simulation, coding, documentation, and technical learning.
Develop AI-assisted learning resources, interactive activities, and personalised learning support.
Encourage learners to use AI as an amplifier of human judgement and engineering thinking, rather than as a replacement for understanding. JKKN's current learning model explicitly places critical thinking first and AI as an amplifier. (jkkn.ac.in)
3. ECE Practical & Experiential Learning
Facilitate laboratory sessions, demonstrations, simulations, mini-projects, and application-based activities.
Mentor learners in electronics, communication systems, embedded systems, IoT, signal processing, VLSI, wireless technologies, and other relevant ECE domains.
Encourage prototype development and solution-oriented engineering projects.
Make effective use of available learning labs and technology-enabled learning infrastructure. JKKN's ECE facilities include digital electronics learning laboratories with practical circuit-design equipment. (engg.jkkn.ac.in)
4. Learner Project & Innovation Mentoring
Guide learners in identifying real-world problems and converting them into engineering solutions.
Mentor mini-projects, major projects, hackathons, technical competitions, and innovation initiatives.
Encourage interdisciplinary projects involving ECE + AI + IoT + embedded systems + data-driven technologies.
Support learners in developing prototypes, technical presentations, documentation, and demonstrations.
5. Research & Development
Pursue research in relevant ECE and emerging technology areas.
Publish research papers in reputed journals and conferences.
Participate in funded research, consultancy, patents, and technology-development initiatives.
Encourage learners to participate in research and solution-oriented innovation.
Contribute to JKKN's focus on solution-oriented research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. (engg.jkkn.ac.in)
6. Industry & Professional Engagement
Establish meaningful connections with industries, professionals, researchers, and technology organisations.
Facilitate guest lectures, workshops, industrial visits, internships, certifications, and industry-oriented projects.
Continuously update subject knowledge based on emerging technologies and industry requirements.
Support learners in becoming career-ready and industry-ready professionals.
7. Academic & Institutional Contribution
Participate actively in departmental academic planning, curriculum development, accreditation activities, and quality initiatives.
Contribute to student clubs, technical events, innovation activities, and institutional programmes.
Maintain academic records, assessment documentation, learner progress reports, and other departmental requirements.
Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve learning outcomes and academic practices.
