Facilities, achievements and sports scholarship opportunities
JKKN sports infrastructure includes — 400m standard athletics track, full-size cricket ground, football ground, 6 basketball courts, 4 volleyball courts, indoor badminton courts, table tennis hall, modern gym with cardio and strength equipment, swimming pool (under construction), yoga and meditation centre, and dedicated sports medicine clinic. Facilities are open to all students from 5 AM to 9 PM daily.
Yes. JKKN teams compete actively in — Anna University zonal championships, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University sports meets, Dental Council of India national championships, and All India Inter-University games. JKKN has won 40+ medals in cricket, football, volleyball and athletics at state and national levels. Notable recent achievement: inter-university cricket championship runners-up 2024.
Yes. JKKN offers sports quota admissions and scholarships for outstanding athletes. Students with state-level or national-level achievements in any recognised sport can receive tuition waivers of 25–75% plus dedicated sports training support during enrolment. Sports quota candidates also benefit from flexible academic schedules during competition season, without compromising degree completion.
Yes. JKKN employs six full-time sports coaches (cricket, football, basketball, athletics, yoga, indoor sports) plus rotating visiting coaches for specialised disciplines. Coaches hold NIS (National Institute of Sports) certifications and many are former state-level athletes. Coaching is free for all students, with additional personalised sessions available for competitive-level athletes.
Sports is core to JKKN student life. All students participate in annual intra-college tournaments, intercollegiate leagues, and campus sports day. Physical education is a graded credit in year 1 across all UG programs. Participation correlates with strong stress management, leadership development and networking. Sports alumni include national-level athletes and professional sports administrators.
