Job Description

The Reader in the Department of Basic Science will play a key role in facilitating the college's vision and mission by providing high-quality education and training to students. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and a passion for advancing the field of dentistry through research and scholarship.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver lectures, seminars, and practical sessions in the basic science subjects such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology, and pharmacology to undergraduate and postgraduate dental students. Develop and implement innovative teaching methods, instructional materials, and assessments to enhance student learning outcomes and engagement. Conduct and supervise laboratory practical sessions and research projects related to the basic science subjects. Participate in curriculum development, revision, and assessment activities to ensure alignment with the latest standards and requirements. Engage in research and scholarly activities, including grant proposal writing, manuscript preparation and submission, and peer-reviewed publications. Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and other academic and administrative activities to contribute to the overall growth and development of the college. Maintain professional expertise and knowledge through continuous learning, attendance at relevant conferences and workshops, and collaboration with colleagues and external partners.

Qualifications

A Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) degree in Prosthodontics or equivalent A minimum of 4 years of teaching and research experience in a dental college or related institution. Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and external partners. Proficiency in laboratory techniques and instrumentation, scientific research methods, and data analysis. Eligible Fields: Anatomy Physiology Biochemistry Microbiology Pharmacology Pathology Immunology Genetics Biotechnology Molecular Biology Nutrition Environmental Sciences
