Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Nursing Tutor to join our team . The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring nursing students in both theoretical and clinical settings. The candidate will also be expected to provide guidance, support and assessment of students throughout their program of study. The candidate will also be expected to actively participate in departmental, college and university committees and activities.
Responsibilities
Preparing lesson plans and course materials: A nursing tutor is responsible for developing lesson plans and course materials for their students. They need to stay up-to-date with the latest research and practices in nursing to ensure that their course materials are accurate and relevant. Conducting classroom and clinical instruction: A nursing tutor will teach both in the classroom and in clinical settings, providing hands-on training to students. They may also be responsible for supervising students during their clinical placements. Providing individualized instruction and support: A nursing tutor will work closely with students to identify areas where they may need extra help, providing one-on-one instruction and support as needed. Evaluating student performance: A nursing tutor is responsible for assessing student progress and providing feedback on their performance. They may also administer exams and assignments and provide grades to students. Participating in curriculum development: A nursing tutor may be involved in developing and revising the nursing curriculum, ensuring that it meets the standards and requirements of the institution and accrediting bodies. Collaborating with colleagues: A nursing tutor may collaborate with other faculty members and staff to ensure that the nursing program is running smoothly and that students are receiving the best possible education. Participating in professional development: A nursing tutor may attend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in nursing education and research.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing or a related field A valid nursing registration A minimum of 1 years of experience in teaching and mentoring nursing students Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
