Job Description
JKKN College of Pharmacy invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor – Pharmaceutics.
The selected candidate will contribute to the academic and research activities of the Department of Pharmaceutics through effective teaching, student mentoring, laboratory-based learning, research, curriculum development, and industry engagement.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong foundation in pharmaceutical formulation, drug delivery, dosage-form design, biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical technology, and emerging pharmaceutical sciences, along with an interest in applying AI and advanced technologies to pharmaceutical research and education.
The candidate will be expected to contribute to an AI-enabled, research-oriented, outcome-based learning environment and help students develop the scientific, technical, analytical, and professional competencies required by the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Pharmaceutics and related pharmaceutical sciences.
Plan and conduct engaging lectures, tutorials, practical sessions, demonstrations, seminars, and laboratory-based learning activities.
Develop and continuously improve course content, lesson plans, practical manuals, assessments, and learning resources in alignment with academic and industry requirements.
Integrate AI-enabled tools, digital technologies, simulation, data-driven approaches, and emerging technologies into teaching and learning wherever relevant.
Facilitate hands-on learning in pharmaceutical formulation, dosage-form development, drug delivery, characterization, stability studies, and related areas.
Mentor students in academic activities, research projects, dissertations, internships, innovation initiatives, and career development.
Guide students in the responsible and effective use of AI and digital tools for literature review, scientific analysis, research planning, and learning.
Conduct innovative and impactful research in Pharmaceutics and allied areas.
Develop research proposals and actively contribute to externally funded and collaborative research projects.
Publish high-quality research findings in reputed peer-reviewed journals and present research at national and international conferences.
Contribute to intellectual property generation, patents, technology development, consultancy, and translational research wherever applicable.
Establish and strengthen collaborations with pharmaceutical industries, research institutions, hospitals, and other academic organizations.
Participate actively in departmental, institutional, accreditation, quality-assurance, and academic activities.
Contribute to seminars, workshops, faculty development programmes, conferences, and professional development initiatives.
Support continuous improvement of the Pharmaceutics curriculum in response to advancements in pharmaceutical technology, healthcare, industry practices, and regulatory expectations.
Promote interdisciplinary research involving AI, advanced drug delivery, nanotechnology, data science, biotechnology, and emerging healthcare technologies.
Qualifications
M.Pharm / equivalent postgraduate qualification in Pharmaceutics or a closely related specialization, as applicable under prevailing regulatory and institutional norms.
Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics or a relevant allied pharmaceutical discipline will be an added advantage.
Demonstrated knowledge and academic competency in Pharmaceutics and pharmaceutical formulation sciences.
Teaching, research, laboratory, or relevant pharmaceutical industry experience will be preferred.
Evidence of research publications in peer-reviewed journals is desirable.
Strong interest in research, innovation, student mentoring, and academic development.
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and collaborative academic environment.
Familiarity with AI-enabled educational tools, digital learning platforms, scientific databases, data analysis, or technology-driven research will be an advantage.
Candidates with pharmaceutical industry, formulation development, R&D, clinical research, regulatory affairs, or related experience will be preferred.
